signature setting that will be turned on. This signature setting inserts one of
the following messages to all of your outgoing emails:

“This email has been sent from a virus-free
computer protected by Avast.”
·
“This email has been checked for viruses by
Avast antivirus software.”
·
“This email is free from viruses and malware
because Avast Antivirus protection is active.”
This message appears at the bottom of all outgoing emails of
Outlook, Thunderbird or any other email client installed on your PC. It’s also
appears in mails of Gmail or any other webmail provider.
This feature is annoying and most of us don’t want to tell
our each and every email recipient that the message was scanned for viruses. So

How to Disable Avast
Email Signature from Outgoing Emails

Look for the Avast icon in the system tray and right
click on it.

Click on “Open Avast user interface”.

Go to Menu from the top right corner. Click on Settings.
·
If you are not able to find Menu, look for a
settings style gear or cog icon instead.
·
Go to the left-hand side and look for the
General section.
·
Click on the OK button to close the settings.
·
Restart your email account and see if the Avast
email signature has been removed from your outgoing emails.
How to remove avast
password?
Many free antivirus and internet security applications offer
a built in protection in order to stop unauthorized users from changing the
settings of the program or disable its functions. Protection is useful when the
computer is used by children or un-experienced users.
Although it’s a good thing, it may lead to some issues. Avast Antivirus restricts unauthorized users
from changing its settings from some years. You can do this by setting a
password to protect the required areas of the program. In this way, anyone trying
to access a protected area has top enter a password.
In case you cancel or enter the wrong password, you will be
locked out of the areas that were selected for protection like program settings,
protection control, protection settings, scan control, scan settings, virus
chest control, and backup/restore settings.
Since Avast password is encrypted and stored in a file
called aswResp.dat, you have to delete this file to remove the password lock.
Manually Delete the
AswResp.Dat File
You can delete the aswResp.dat file manually in Safe Mode as
its applications are not active in Safe Mode. Therefore the file is not
protected and you can move or delete it easily.
In order to boot into Safe Mode you have to restart your
computer. Now start tapping the F8 key until you see Advanced Boot Options. Go
to Safe Mode from the list and click on enter. If you are not able to get to
Safe Mode by yourself, you can take the help of tools to do it easily.
Steps for Windows 8 and 10 users: to get into safe mode, hold Shift key while
pressing Restart option. Click on Troubleshoot and go to Advanced options.
Navigate to Startup settings and click on Restart. on reboot press 4, 5 or 6 to
enter the desired Safe Mode option.

Once you’re in Safe Mode, go to the respective
antivirus folder.

Now delete or move the aswResp.dat file to
another location.
You have to enable show hidden files in Folder Options. Go
to Control Panel and click on Folder Options. Click on View tab and select
“Show hidden files, folders, or drives”. Or copy and paste the address mentioned
above into your Explorer address bar and will take you straight to the folder.
